The David Bowie Dream

About two and a half years ago, I had this dream of David Bowie. It was so real to me that when I woke up, I felt like he had really been telling me “what to wear.”

In the dream, I was just listening. He described this outfit for me to wear, in perfect detail. He told me, for example, “they have to be baseball pants.” He went on and on about the detail of the shirt, the vest, even the colors, the make up and the hair. Then came the shoes. This was probably the hardest part for me to piece together for I was told I had to glue “rose quartz crystals” onto saddle shoes to make them look two tone.

As soon as I woke up, I frantically wrote down everything. I know it sounds crazy, but I knew this was not just a chance encounter. David Bowie had actually come to me in a dream and described what would end up being my very first, “JCat costume.”

There was, however, one important detail he left out. He told me there was to be a patch on the side of the pants and I would know clearly what it was. Sure enough, when it was time to sew the patch on, the Star Man himself had to be there. Or, well, if you believe that he was an alien, he was there...
